Blackberry devices, made by the struggling Research in Motion, are the mobile device of choice among the 3,800 Edelman staffers, according to VP of info security John Iatonna.

He told Computer World that staffers who want to use iPhones or iPods for work are decided on an individual basis and required to sign a waiver to install special software that can erase data at will.

He said the firm has two reasons for using corporate-owned Blackberrys, although a third (and possibly larger factor) not mentioned in the story is the firm's global account work for RIM...
