The U.S. Olympic Committee has tapped M&C Saatchi PR as agency of record through the 2014 winter games after a hotly contested pitch.

M&C Saatchi, which has a New York office, worked the 2012 London Games on a project basis for the USOC, which will lean on the firm for PR support through the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Weber Shandwick, Ketchum, Edelman/Matter, Hill+Knowlton Strategies and Cohn & Wolfe all took part in the review, in addition to M&C Saatchi, according to Patrick Sandusky, a Hill+Knowlton Strategies alum who is chief communications officer for the USOC.

The privately funded USOC also worked with Cohn & Wolfe on its "Raise Our Flag" campaign ahead of the London Games.

The committee and its uniform designer, Ralph Lauren, took some heat last July after ABC News reported that the garb was made in China.
