PR pros are organizing a four-hour online event Feb. 19 to help colleagues (and PR-aspiring students) find jobs in the industry.

The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics said in January that employment of PR specialists is expected to grow 24 percent from 2008 to 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations. So, sooner or later PR jobs are expected to take off.

Dubbed "Help a PR Pro Out," or HAPPO, the campaign this week is the brainchild of BurrellesLuce's Valerie Simon and digital consultant Arik Hanson.

Those seeking PR work have been instructed to post a blog entry on Friday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. EST and send a link under the #HAPPO hashtag on Twitter so that employers (and other PR pros) taking part can find them.

A group of about two dozen pros have agreed to serve as "regional champions" to promote the posts locally.
