The United State Central Command is looking for PR, monitoring and analysis help to weigh public opinion and media coverage of political, military, social and economic issues affecting its operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Centcom, based at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida, where much of the planned PR consulting work will occur, wants to create a 24/7 “informational environment watch capacity,” both domestically and in its areas of operations overseas, as outlined in a “performance work” document seeking sources from companies.
A contracting official told O'Dwyer's that part of the work outlined in the new solicitation is handled by SOS International of New York. Other companies that have performed similar assignments for the military include Lincoln Group (now Fulcra Worldwide), Leonie Industries, The Rendon Group and L-3 Services.
The work is in support of Centcom participation in Operations Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), Iraqi Freedom and Earnest Voice, the name for its information operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
