Idaho is the latest state to issue an RFP for a public education push to highlight its employment services amid the paltry national job market.
Unemployment in the Gem State was at 9.4% in March, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, below the national average of 9.7%.
Using federal funds, Idaho wants to mount a public service advertising and PR effort to boost inquiries to the state about its employment listing and services aimed to help job seekers. It also wants to strengthen ties with the private sector in helping people get back to work.
The RFP follows a similar one in Nevada, which awarded its account late last month.
The Idaho work varies from research and focus groups to PSAs, social media campaigns, brochures and other public outreach.
The resulting contract will run for two years with two options years attached.
Proposal deadline is May 18.
