Ron Levy (11/19):
Just as Kevin has a right to run, in a newsletter on PR, what some may consider an anti-Israel story and link unrelated to PR, readers have a right to feel that this is disgusting.
Joe Honick, GMA International Ltd (11/19):
I wonder if this outfit and your readers realize that nothing of this sort could ever appear in any of the Arab couintries out to demolish Israel, two states or not. Try hiring a lobbyist like this in Saudi Arabia then run for the desert! Ron is correct!
joe from jerusalem (11/22):
very tired of knee-jerk attacks of anyone who fails to understand the reality that jerusalem belongs to jews, arabs and the world.
Ron Levy (11/22):
Of the 12,553 lobbyists registered in June 2010, do we see this newsletter reporting to us on the positions of lobbyists related to PR, advertising, marketing, TV, newspapers or free speech? Or lobbyists on air quality, water quality, food and drug quality, education, gay agendas, anti-gay agendas, women's rights or bigots' wrongs?
No, as luck would have it we are presented with the arguments of an anti-Israel government group. Is it luck? Or is there a reason other than luck that this newsletter has reported to us on the position of this group that opposes Israel's government policy? Dearborn, Michigan is populated largely by Arabs as are sections of London near Marble Arch, plus parts of Paris, Istanbul and other cities.
Does Kevin favor the U.S., England, France, and Turkey (which is secular) "sharing or politically dividing" these cities with Arab neighborhoods under a foreign government? When millions of American children perhaps incuding Kevin's and Jack's own children have recited our Pledge of Allegience including "one nation indivisible," and when President Lincoln spoke of "one nation indivisible," does Kevin think it would have been better to say "largely" or "mostly" indivisible? We don't see in Kevin's story equal attention or at least SOME attention (for the sake of balanced coverage) to reasons why Israelis feel their capital should be individible just as Dearmborn, Paris, London and Isdtabul are indivisible.
Ah, but these lobbyists are headed by Jews, one could claim and try to sound sincere, just as a group called "Jews for Jesus" is headed by people who say they are Jews and just as EXTREMELY anti-Catholic groups are headed by people who say they are Catholic. But we have a right to judge whether these groups are bona fide Catholics and whether Kevin has made a journalistic error for which he should apologize.
Not apologize "in case I have offended anyone" but apologize because it's a damn shame--a blatantly one-sided story that should be retracted rather than left there as an insult to the intelligence and journalistic standards held by readers of all reigions. |
