EAW Group's John Aycoth has written "Africa's Last Kaiser: The Rise and Fall of Laurent Kabila," a book about the former head of strife-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo.
It will be published next year.
Kabila seized power from long-time dictator Mobutu Sese Seko in 1997. He ruled the DRC until January 2008, when he was assassinated by his bodyguards.
Aycoth represented Kabila from 1998-01. He announced the death of Kabila to the world via the Associated Press' United Nations news bureau.
The DRC is currently ruled by Joseph Kabila, son of Laurent.
