GCI Health has brought in Novartis Pharmaceuticals social media director Mark Davis to lead its digital health operations.

GCI, part of WPP’s Cohn & Wolfe, said Davis has been asked to “broaden the strategic vision” for its digital health offering, while also handling client work and new business under CEO Wendy Lund.
Davis handled regulatory and legal issues in social media, among other duties developing digital communications across the drug maker’s brands.
Prior to seven years at Novartis, he was VP/consumer experience at Merck-Medko after marketing posts at Prudential and American Express.
Earlier this month, GCI unveiled a new healthcare unit, Synchronicity, focused on patient and provider education.
