Patton Boggs has inked a $175K pact with the China Chamber of Commerce for Importers and Exporters of Machinery and Electronic Products to counsel on trade ties with the U.S.
The firm is to provide "information, coordination and guidance" to members of the group that includes some entities owned the Government of China.
PB chief Tommy Boggs spearheads the effort. Mark Cowan, a PA veteran, also works the account. He is former vice chairman of Cassidy & Associates, Jefferson Group founder and staffer at Gray & Co. and Hill & Knowlton.
PB also represents China's D.C. embassy under a contract worth $35K a month. Boggs leads that team bolstered by Robert Kapla, a former White House official, and Tim Chorba, ex-U.S. ambassador to Singapore.
