Shirley & Banister Public Affairs is working with Senate Republican nominee Christine O'Donnell, a media sensation and Tea Party favorite who shocked the political realm with a primary win over Rep. Mike Castle this month.

O'Donnell caused a media stir over the weekend when she pulled out of a Sunday morning talk show blitz set up by S&B. The canceled appearances on Fox and CBS came after a video clip saying she "dabbled in witchcraft" surfaced online and a 1996 documentary clip of her discussing an anti-masturbation campaign became a YouTube hit.
Diana Banister, a partner at Alexandria, Va.-based S&B, told reporters that O'Donnell had previous scheduling conflicts and would return to Delaware over the weekend to attend church events. She said O'Donnell would be open to appearing on the shows in the future.
Banister told O'Dwyer's that her firm started with the campaign in mid-August to work on national media outreach and as advisors on campaign strategy.
O'Donnell's victory has made some in the GOP establishment uneasy but she enjoys strong support from the Tea Party movement.
Banister and S&B partner Craig Shirley penned an op-ed for this website last year titled "Will the Tea Party Dunk the GOP?"
