High-profile D.C. attorney Lanny Davis and former Israel lobby spokesman Josh Block have formed the public affairs and legal consultancy Davis-Block in the District.

Block, who directed strategic communications for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, said legislative strategy and PA are "inextricably linked" today. "You simply can’t get things done in traditional ways," he said, noting the new shop will operate at the "nexus" of policy, politics and PA. "The media and political environment demands more."
Block was a spokesman for USAID in the Clinton State Dept., worked the Gore-Lieberman presidential bid, and ran his own shop in D.C.
Davis, who was White House counsel during the Clinton administration and served as Clinton’s spokesman on matters like his impeachment, has lobbied for clients like Pakistan and Honduras in recent years via his law firm, Lanny J. Davis & Associates.
In a statement, he called Block "the most talented communications strategist and strategic thinking I have met in my 30 years in Washington."
