Land is slated to become associate VP of university communications for Indiana University July 1, taking over the retiring Larry MacIntyre under VP of PA and government relations, Mike Sample.
"Right now, Cummins has not announced my successor or our plans for succession," he told O'Dwyer's. Land exits after eight years with Cummins, which he joined after a career in journalism that included a stint as senior editor and newsroom manager for Gannett papers in New York, Michigan and Indiana. That included assistant managing editor for business news at the Indianapolis Star from 2001-03.
He has also been an adjunct lecturer in IU’s School of Journalism and was on the board of its alumni association for five years. He noted the "chance to come home to IU and to live in Bloomington is nothing short of a dream situation for my family."
