The Corporation for Travel Promotion, the public/private entity that promotes travel to the U.S., has recruited Chris Perkins for the chief marketing officer slot.
The president/CEO of Boston-based Blitz Media will oversee the $200M marketing thrust from WPP firms including JWT and Hill & Knowlton.
He is thrilled to “lead the creation of a campaign that will capture the American spirit and all that our great nation has to offer international visitors,” according to his statement. He also will establish various social media and PR partnerships for CTP.
Jim Evans, chief of CTP, called Perkins an “innovative thinker with big ideas who has developed powerful marketing campaigns for countless major brands.”
Prior to Blitz, Perkins was executive director at Arnold Worldwide, chief strategy officer at Fahlgren, senior VP at Publicis & Hal Riney, director of client management at Creative Alliance and partner of Bozell Worldwide’s international group.
Blitz has handled Wendy’s, Gulfstream, Utah Tourism, Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey, Lindblad Exhibitions and Citi Performing Arts Center.
