Mike Paul, the Reputation Doctor, MGP & Associates PR (1/10):
I predicted there would be PR execs doing "the perp walk" in the coming years back in 2005 from major corporations and leading PR firms. Look for law enforcement to keep a closer eye on fraudulent activities in the PR world as fraud, lies and illegal activities continue to grow in society in general. How ironic for those of us who are trained to counsel our clients to always lean on truth to best grow or repair a reputation, now have clear examples of executives doing the exact opposite. You can run, but you can't hide. The truth will always bubble to the top.
Joe Honick, GMA International Ltd (1/10):
Mike Paul is of course correct, But then one only has to see that every murdering dictator and other nogooder seems able to attract someone fromn the PR business when the fees and/or reflected publcity are available.
Bill Huey, Strategic Communications, Atlanta (1/10):
Three and a half years in the clink for a lousy $300K seems like overreaching today, two years after the biggest legalized swindle of the U.S. Treasury in history went down. And not a single SOB has gone to jail. Why is the Justice Department sleeping on this? Is it political expediency, fear of the repercussions on the economy, or what?
I won't say Doug Dowie is a martyr, but by comparison his offense seems trivial.
Fed Up In NYC! (1/10):
Mr. Huey- The government doesn't take kindly to being screwed- but boy- if they screw you- that's more than fine! |
