Allison & Partners has been tapped by the California Travel & Tourism Commission to capitalize on the PR bounty that will follow the newly minted Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when they visit the Golden State this week.
The tourism entity has created the “Royal Summer” campaign and a marketing platform, “Three Days Isn’t Enough” to leverage the newlyweds’ West Coast trip, which begins on July 8 in Los Angeles after a swing through Canada.
A&P, part of MDC Partners, was brought on to guide PR and media outreach for the CT&TC campaign via its Los Angeles and San Francisco offices. The firm said it will reach out to national and regional media to promote the tourism campaign and supporting events.
Dawn Wilcox, GM of A&P/L.A., said the project is a “great win” for the firm because of its international visibility and the chance to help its home state show off its tourism, travel and experience offerings.
Prince Williams and Kate Middleton are slated to attend a U.K. Trade and Investment invent in L.A. on July 8, before heading to Santa Barbara for a polo event on Saturday and a British film event that night. The couple will attend a charity event for Tusk USA on Sunday before returning to the U.K.
“The visit will support the interests of the United Kingdom through the prism of the Royal Couple’s interests,” according to a statement from the couple’s private secretary. |
