Edelman represents private equity firm Silver Lake, which is part of the investment trio to make the move on GoDaddy Group.
The $2B-plus deal is expected to fuel international expansion of the world’s largest registrar of Internet domain names and marketer of cloud-based software and services.
Bob Parsons, founder of GoDaddy, told the Wall Street Journal, “I’m just one guy. I can only take the company so far.” He said GoDaddy lacked the funds to do acquisitions.
KKR and Technology Crossover Ventures, which uses Kinetic PR, are partners in the GoDaddy transaction with Silver Lake, which managers $14B in investments.
Silver Lake has invested in companies such as Groupon, Business Objects, Seagate Technology, MCI, Avaya, Sabre, Gartner, Skype and Zynga. |
