Williams took the Beeb position in 2008 and counts the 2010 license fees settlement as a highlight.
He also worked as communications director at Reuters, director at Brunswick Group and advisor to U.S. General Wesley Clark during the war crimes trial of Serbia's president Slobodan Milosevic.
Williams succeeds acting U.K. CEO Susan Eastoe, who will handle the management transition and then take on expanded duties in the EMEA group next year.
He reports to Robert Phillips, EMEA CEO, who had headed the U.K. Phillips expects Williams to bring “fresh and challenging perspectives and ideas” to the PR firm. |
