Arianna Huffington, Huffington Post Media Group; Ted Danson, actor and Oceana activist, and Nicholas Negroponte, founder of One Laptop Per Child, are among high-profile speakers slated for the social innovation summit at the United Nations June 6 beginning at 10 a.m.
The event, which is a partnership between the United Nations Office of Partnerships and Landmark Ventures, is an invitation-only affair for executives of Fortune 500 companies.
Top brass from General Electric, Merck, Viacom, Discovery Communications, Disney, Pfizer, Verizon, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Hewlett-Packard and Abbott Labs are among confirmed guests.
They will explore themes such as “creating socially responsible technology enterprises” with Microsoft and JPMorgan, “environment & sustainability” with Gap Inc. and “accessing healthcare innovation” with Abbott and DSM North America.
