David Higdon, a seasoned sports PR pro and journalist, is slated to join NASCAR’s revamped communications operation later this month as managing director.
He has led corporate communications and media relations for the LPGA Tour for the past two years.
Higdon will report to Brett Jewkes, the former Taylor managing partner who took NASCAR’s top PR slot in February, and will focus on integrated the racing league’s communications.
Earlier stints included executive VP at Champ Car and senior VP, comms., at the Association of Tennis Professionals. He was a freelance sports writer for the New York Times during the 1990s and wrote for ESPN The Magazine.
