Keep it Real (6/27):
Crossroads wants to starve the beast. That's all. Ignoring Bush's huge contributions to our economic woes and trying to pin everything on Obama is a transparent and pathetic attempt to change history.
Bush's tax cuts created no jobs. In fact, just the opposite. From the Bureau of Labor Statistics: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/documents/2010/02/house-speaker-nancy-pelosi-compares-job-losses-under-presidents-obama-and-bush.php?page=1&ref=fpblg
GOPlease responds to Keep it Real (6/27):
You and your fellow Democrats aren't lacking in chutzpah, that's for sure. We're now two and a half years into the Obama/Reid/Pelosi economic solution. And, try as you might, you can't point to anything your crew has made better. On the contrary -- everything is worse. But, you're still running against George Bush -- who hasn't been president since January 21, 2009.
Bill Huey, Strategic Communications, Atlanta (6/27):
First, a few facts that Karl Rove wouldn't acknowledge but are facts nevertheless:
1. We haven't spent all of the stimulus yet.
2. Two and a half years isn't enough time to turn this economy around. In fact, it's looking like five years won't be enough. Many thanks to the handful of greedy toads who thought they could game the system and wrecked the economy instead.
3. A $20M marketing campaign with TV commercials is hardly "grassroots" by any definition. Where is the money really coming from?
Fed Up Dem (6/27):
Oh GOPlease, you can be so tiresome. YOU FORGOT ABOUT NOVEMBER, 2010. In that month, Boehner, Cantor et al went to the American people and said ELECT US -- we will be the JOBS team.
On Election Night, they stood there and said OK, you have elected us and PUT US IN CHARGE with majority in the House and filibuster power in the Senate. WE WILL BE THE PARTY OF JOBS.
Since then . . . . hmmmmmm. Political theatre bills to repeal Obamacare, and cut off funding for Libya, plus many others that were pure drama -- no way the Senate would even introduce them.
Bills attacking Big Bird and the EPA.
A nearly obsessive number of hearings and proposals concerning abortion -- nowhere near the top priority of the American people.
The attack on Planned Parenthood.
Actions and discussions and bills on nearly every subject under the sun . . . EXCEPT jobs.
No bills. No legislation. No hearings. Not even a political theatre vote. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.
The party of JOBS -- hire us, fire Obama, we'll make it happen -- is all talk, no cattle. No action. No activity.
Obama inherited an economy that was losing 800,000 jobs a month. We are now adding a platry 120,000 a month on average BUT that's not nearly enough. But it's an improvement over what Obama inherited. SO plenty of room for some leadership from the GOP Jobs Team.

GOPleased - You're parroting whatever you heard on Rush, Fox, Hannity, etc. Turn the channel.

Please spare me the outrage. Is the left not creating an exact model of this group to do the same thing?
Joe Honick, GMA International Ltd (6/28):
While GOPlease leans so far to the right one wonders how or whether he/she remains aloft. Nevertheless, while noting GOPlease's silliness, it does not forgive the confused leadership of the present administration that has led us into dangerous territories in the Middle East, has not moved to cancel massive contracts for defense contractors in Afghanistan and generally seems on a track it is difficult to decipher. It is of course true as well the Republicans have contributed little to clear the confusion. Recent articles in these pages have dealt clearly with those leadership cocnerns.
It remains difficult to understand why grownup people are so loath to attach their real names to critical commentary. |
