Mattia, 62, who had retired from Coca-Cola, will retire from Yale at the end of the year, the university said, following his efforts to consolidate Yale’s communications efforts and shape its strategic plan with new media.
In a letter to Yale deans and directors released by the university, Vice President Linda Lorimer said [Yale president] “Rick Levin and I felt fortunate to have recruited Tom to come to Yale to consolidate a number of communications efforts across the campus and to work with those in the schools to shape a strategic plan that has Yale more ambitiously employing new media.”
Elizabeth Stauderman, deputy chief communications officer and a 1983 graduate of the college and law school (’04), will take over the CCO post on Jan. 1. She has led PR for Yale’ business, law and divinity schools.
