ASGK Public Strategies, the Chicago-based firm co-founded by Obama advisor David Axelrod, has added Fleishman-Hillard vet Eileen Marcus and White House aide David Wade in Washington.
Marcus, senior VP and partner at F-H in 13 years through 2011 running F-H’s Baby Boomer unit, has been running her own shop for the past eight months and earlier was a senior VP for Burson-Marsteller in Miami. She takes a managing director title at ASGK.
Wade takes on a principal role at ASGK after a stint in the White House communications office. He was previously press secretary for Vice President Joe Biden during the 2008 campaign and chief of staff to Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), in addition to other Congressional press posts.
Axelrod co-founded ASGK with AT&T and Edelman PR vet Eric Sedler in 2002. Sedler is managing partner based in Chicago while Axelrod left the firm for the White House and now heads strategy for Obama’s re-election push.
