Burson-Marsteller aced a half-dozen firms in a competitive pitch to land the Cathay Pacific Airways and sister carrier Dragonair accounts for the fast-growing China market.
The government of the People’s Republic of China says passenger travel more than 17 during the past year. The number of passengers is projected to reach the 1.5B market by 2030, making China the globe’s No. 1 market.
Sam Swire, China general manager for the Hong Kong-based airlines, said in a statement that the partnership with B-M is to “engage passengers, media and industry stakeholders to increase awareness of the brands.”
B-M’s five China offices will handle the one-year contract that also includes a corporate social responsibility component.
