Ronald Eckstein, press secretary for retiring Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), has moved to Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications’ Washington office as an associate VP.
Seventy-year-old Nelson in December announced his retirement from the Senate as he faced a difficult re-election climate.
Eckstein was a speechwriter for Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) when he was Majority Whip and communications director for Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.).
He worked in the private sector at Benenson Strategy Group and Greenberg Quinlan Rosner after a journalism career that included Legal Times and The Hotline.
Boston-based Rasky Baerlein saw revenue rise three percent last year to $9,862,286 with about 40 staffers.
