The Consumer Electronics Assn., which spent nearly $3M in Washington lobbying outlays during the past year, has added Republican powerhouse firm BGR Government Affairs to its line-up.
The firm of former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour handles recycling/energy efficiency legislation and federal appropriations for the 2,000-member strong trade group.
The BGR team includes Dan Murphy, chief of staff to former Housing & Urban Development Secretary Mel Martinez; Bob Wood, COS to ex-Health & Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson; Erskine Wells, ex-deputy COS to Mississippi Secretary Roger Wicker, and Jennifer Larkin Lukawski, former legislative director to California Congressman Bob Dornan and Heritage Foundation director.
Jonathan Mantz, who was national financial director for Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid, and Charles Jefferson, ex-COS to California’s Mike Thompson, are the Democrats on the BGR’s team.
CES dropped Dutko Worldwide, which is now Dutko Grayling, from its lobbying roster last year.
