Raivich, who was earlier VP of comms. for Comcast’s Versus sports channel before it was folded into NBC Sports, reports to Fanatics’ new president, Jamie Davis, who was president of Versus while Ravich led communications there.
“I built a solid working relationship with him during my time at Versus and have tremendous confidence that his strategic insights will drive our PR efforts to a whole new level,” said Davis, who was hired in April at Fanatics, which sells officially licensed merchandise for all of the major sports leagues and media brands like ESPN and NBC Sports Network.
Fanatics.com raised $150 million from venture firms Andreessen Horowitz and Insight Venture Partners in June for a valuation of $1.5 billion.
Prior to Versus, Raivich was director of PR for the Chicagoland Speedway, handling NASCAR and IndyCar Series events. He started out at sports PR and marketing firm Taylor.
Fanatics closed the $183M acquisition of rival Dreams Inc. in June.
Greg Hughes is senior VP, corporate communications, for NBC Sports Group.
