Weber Shandwick worked National Bank Holdings Corp.’s $138M initial public offering today as the Colorado-based operator of retail banks listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
WS New England president Micho Spring has been a director of NBHC since 2009 and the firm’s Boston office is providing media relations support for the bank holding company, which priced its IPO below expectations from earlier this month.
NBHC, which moved its base from Boston to Denver earlier this year and was formed in 2009 to buy up troubled community banks, runs more than 100 banks in Colorado, Missouri and Texas as Bank Midwest, Community Banks of Colorado and Hillcrest Bank.
Executives of the company rang the opening bell at NYSE Sept. 12 to mark the debut.
Spring is a former director for Citizens Bank of Massachusetts and CEO of Boston Telecommunications Company. She was also deputy mayor of Boston.
