The American Board, a non-profit national program aimed to help professionals get certified to become teachers, is looking for a PR education.
The Washington, D.C.-based group, formally known as the American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence and started in 2001 with a Dept. of Education grant, has released an RFP for a PR consultant to operate on an initial three-month pact. Garnering news coverage of the program, booking appearances for its CEO, Shawn Arévalo McCollough, and "building the American Board on a national platform" are among tasks expected of a firm or consultant.
The Board's program for teacher certification has been approved by 11 states, including Florida, Pennsylvania and Missouri, to name a few.
Proposals are due Feb. 8. View the RFP (link). |
