New York Public Library

The New York Public Library is conducting a search for a PR firm to create buzz for fund-raising events held at its flagship Stephen A. Schwarzman Building on Fifth Ave. and 42ndSt.

A key focus will be the Nov. 5 Library Lions Gala, which the NYPL bills as “one of the most anticipated events on NYC’s cultural calendar.”

This year’s honorees include filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola (“The Godfather,” “Patton,” “Apocalypse Now,” “American Graffiti”), biographer Ron Chernow (“Alexander Hamilton,” “The House of Morgan” “Grant”), poet Claudia Rankine (“The Racial Imaginary: Writers on Race in the Life of the Mind”), opera singer Jessye Norman (National Media of Arts, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner) and writer Elizabeth Strout (“My Name is Lucy Barton,” “Abide with Me”).

Tickets for the event run from $150K (table of ten) to $5K (patron).

The PR firm will handle media outreach and manage the logistics of the Lions affair and other events during 2019.
