Wilsonville, Oregon is seeking proposals from agencies that can provide tourism promotion and destination marketing services for the city’s Explore Wilsonville tourism-development strategy.

The city is looking for an agency that can develop marketing campaigns that promote Wilsonville as an ideal lodging “basecamp” for day trips and overnight lodging, particularly, to increase overnight lodging occupancy during the non-summer-season months. The Clackamas County city, whose population is about 20,000, sits on the southern edge of the Portland metropolitan area about mid-way between Portland and Salem, the state capitol.

Scope of the work includes public relations services (news release writing, pitching story ideas, press release distribution and managing media contacts); marketing services (media buying, art and creative direction, print and ad design, copywriting, production, email marketing campaigns); website services (website development, hosting, maintenance, content development, monitoring, reporting and SEO); social media services (promoting off-season tourism as well as management and implementation); photographic and video services; management services; and collateral, printing and shipping/distribution services.

The contract awarded will run for a year-and-a-half period, beginning January 1, 2020 and completing June 30, 2021. Budget for the project can’t exceed $300,000.

Bidding agencies must submit eight hard copy sets of their proposals as well as a digital version on a compact disc or a flash drive. All proposals must be sealed in an opaque envelope, plainly marked: “RFP – Tourism Services.”
