Planned Parenthood Federation of America has issued two separate requests for proposals for public relations agencies that can provide crisis communications consulting work as well as guidance for the organization’s acting president regarding media training and thought leadership opportunities.

Planned Parenthood

The reproductive healthcare organization is looking for a firm that can provide timely and relevant crisis communications consulting and monitoring services to support the organization’s mission and to protect its brand.

Scope of the work includes assisting the non-profit with media inquiries, press statements and engaging with journalists and media outlets surrounding crisis situations, opposition attacks and threats to PPFA’s brand (both for the national office as well as PPFA affiliates). The work also calls for the monitoring of anti-abortion groups, campaigns and undercover operations, including undercover video campaigns.

Terms of the work are slated to commence Oct. 1 and run through June 2022.

On the thought leadership front, PPFA is looking for an agency that can provide strategic thought leadership services for PPFA’s acting president. That work includes general consulting and guidance for the acting president in terms of media pitching and interviews as well as leveraging thought leadership opportunities for high-level bureau briefings, conferences, op-eds, editorial boards and other vehicles.

That contract is scheduled to run through March 2022.

Proposals for both RFPs are due by 4 p.m. (EST) on September 6 and should be sent electronically to communications coordinator Chelsey Peppe, [email protected], with “PPFA RFP Response” in the subject line.

Questions pertaining to either RFP should be directed to Chelsey Peppe, [email protected].
