The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for a firm to analyze whether the region should plunge into the fast-growing e-sports sector.

It issued an RFP to provide "information on both our local infrastructure and the national landscape to determine the best possible opportunities for entry into e-sports."

The CoC wants to know what types of e-sports there are to host and the necessary marketing communications programs to support them.

The firm will gauge "the potential tourism impacts from e-sports events in terms of economic impact, hotel room night generation and media exposure" and weigh the pros/cons of staging events during the high business season from June-August opposed to the shoulder season.
