Tucson Water wants to hire a PR firm to develop a general branding/public information campaign that is culturally relevant to the Latino community.

It wants to move from past outreach efforts that focused on translating English words into Spanish. “Translations generally do not provide interpretive context to ensure the message is presented in a manner which imparts accurate meaning,” says the RFP.

The desired firm will create effective messaging to be used with Spanish language and bilingual media and develop guidelines for future information campaigns.

The broadcast, print and social media messaging will promote Tucson Water's programs, including payment assistance, water quality initiatives and conservation efforts.

The PR firm will connect with Latino water conservation/environmental activists and create a TW signature annual event for the community.

Proposals are due Aug. 26 and must be sent electronically to Tucson’s portal at https://bit.ly/3ixqDZW
