Community Mental Health Partnership of Southeast Michigan is looking for a PR firm to handle a gambling disorder prevention media campaign.

The push aims at gambling behaviors that “compromise, disrupt or damage personal, family or vocational pursuits,” according to the RFP.

Those behaviors include “increasing preoccupation with gambling, a need to bet more money more frequently, restlessness or irritability when attempting to stop, 'chasing' losses, and loss of control manifested by continuation of gambling despite mounting, serious, negative consequences.”

In extreme cases, out-of-control gambling “can result in financial ruin, legal problems, loss of career and family, or even suicide.”

CMHPSM and the regional gambling disorder prevention workgroup will provide marketing materials for the media campaign that will target youth and parents.

The five-month campaign will kick off April 1 and be budgeted at $75K.

Proposals are due Feb. 15 and must be submitted at www.cmhpsm.org/procurement.
