DeSoto

Desoto, which is situated 19 miles from Dallas, wants to hire a firm to educate its 50K people about available COVID-19 programs.

On March 3, the day Texas governor Greg Abbott announced plans to drop the mask mandate and “open up” Lone Star businesses, DeSoto advised its people to continue to follow the medical protocols to protect them from the virus and stop its spread “until all or most of our residents are vaccinated and immunity is achieved.”

DeSoto noted that Dallas County reported 26 new deaths, including a man in his 60s who lived in the City.

The City posted on its website that anti-COVID actions are proven and based on science. “Not only should we all wear a mask but consider adding a second mask. Continue to social distance. Avoid crowds and gatherings. And keep your hands clean and sanitized,” it said.

DeSoto has budgeted up to $100K for the COVID-19 outreach effort.

Interested firms must be knowledgeable about the DeSoto area and submit a marketing and communications plan identifying strategies, including all tools, media, platforms and channels—paid and organic—to reach targeted audiences, according to the RFP.

Responses are due March 12. They go to:
