Visit Elizabeth City, the tourism authority charged with promoting Elizabeth City, North Carolina, is seeking proposals from firms that can serve as the waterfront community’s public relations agency of record.

The northeastern North Carolina city, which sits on the banks of the Pasquotank River about 50 minutes south of Norfolk, Virginia, is looking for a firm with significant travel and tourism experience that can propose and establish strategies and develop a  communications program in an effort to grow brand awareness of Elizabeth City, boost overnight stays and improve Pasquotank County’s economy.

Scope of the work includes developing a strategic and targeted PR plan to reach media and consumers; developing media stories and angles that highlight the region as a unique travel destination; securing feature articles and broadcast placements in key media markets; creating press releases; serving as a primary point of contact for media inquiries; managing press trips; and monitoring work.

Budget for the work is between $20,000 and $40,000.
