California Water

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, which serves 19M people in Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties, is gathering qualifications from firms willing to handle public outreach and community support activity on an on-call basis.

Metropolitan’s facilities include the 242-mile-long Colorado River Aqueduct, five pumping plants, eight reservoirs, five water treatment plans, 16 hydroelectric plants and 830 miles of pipelines.

The public agency wants to prequalify firms to handle infrastructure projects, primarily in LA and Orange Counties, to gain community backing for projects, manage expectations and foster trusted relationships.

They may be called to identify local concerns, develop messaging, handle media outreach and help organize community meetings.

Metropolitan will retain the prequalified list of firms for three years.

Qualifications are due April 12. They go to https://www.planetbids.com/portal/portal.cfm?CompanyID=1615.
