British Columbia

British Columbia is looking for a PR partner to handle communications and engagement services for its George Massey Crossing program, a $4.2B construction project to ease traffic congestion and improve transit and cycling infrastructure in the metro Vancouver region.

It envisions an eight-lane immersed tube tunnel in place by 2030 on Highway 99, replacing the George Massey Tunnel. Two of the lanes will be dedicated to bus traffic and there will be separated pathways for cyclists and pedestrians.

British Columbia plans to hire a firm for a term of up to six years. The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has the option to renew the contract for two additional three-year periods

The PR firm will work on an “assigned basis.” It will create messaging, develop press releases/fact sheets/presentations, conducti media outreach, handle crisis situations and meet with community groups to keep them informed of construction progress.

Proposals are due Oct. 14 and may be emailed to [email protected]
