City of Miami Beach

Miami Beach is accepting bids to handle strategic communications and publicity services for its cultural and Art in Public Places program.

Launched in 1984, Miami Beach's arts program has awarded $18M in cultural arts grants to support thousands of year-round performances, exhibits and other activities to position the city as a world-class arts destination.

In pre-pandemic 2019, it featured artists Ellen Harvey (Brooklyn), Franz Ackermann (Berlin), Joseph Kosuth (London/Manhattan), Joep van Lieshout (Rotterdam), Elmgreen & Dragset (Berlin) and Sarah Morris (Manhattan).

The Art in Public Places program has scored coverage in the New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, Forbes, Artnet News, Art Newspaper, Vogue International, Galerie Magazine and Financial Times.

Miami Beach, which will issue a one-year contract, wants a PR partner to stress its unique character and presence in the art world that is emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Proposals are due Nov. 12 at https://www.periscopeholdings.com.

Bidders must be in compliance with Miami Beach's ban on products/services sourced from Mississippi due to its "enactment of discriminatory legislation towards the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community."
