Gadsden County, Florida

Gadsden County, which is located in Florida’s Panhandle, is looking for a firm to develop and implement a destination marketing effort.

Named after James Gadsden, Andrew Jackson’s aide-de-camp during the 1817 invasion of Florida, Gadsden County is The Sunshine State’s only Black majority county.

The County wants a firm to increase tourism by identifying and promoting its key attractions, events, activities and natural resources beyond the Panhandle.

It is scouting for a partner experienced in working with minority rural counties and equipped with the ability to “discover and highlight historical aspects that will lead to tourism events and attractions,” according to the RFP.

The selected firm will develop overall communications strategy, handle earned/paid/social media messaging, pitch storylines, write press releases, create media lists and travel to trade shows. Spanish language content also may be used.
