The town of Seaside, Oregon is requesting proposals from agencies that can provide public relations services.

The Clatsop County town, which sits on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, is located about 78 miles west of Portland. It counts a population of about 7,000.

The Seaside Visitors Bureau, the destination marketing organization responsible for overseeing tourism in Seaside, is looking for an agency with tourism marketing experience that can land earned media in target markets in an effort to raise awareness of Seaside and compel travelers to visit the town and Oregon's North Coast.

Scope of the work includes: developing story ideas and pitches; conducting proactive media outreach to target markets; establishing and managing a public relations strategy, PR plan and PR editorial calendar; identifying opportunities for travel writers; supporting paid media campaigns and tourism-focused events and initiatives; tracking and reporting on earned media; and creating talking points and fact sheets for media contacts.

Terms of the contract call for an initial six-month commitment—beginning January 1, 2024—with an option to renew for three additional one-year periods.
