San Francisco-based Allison+Partnershas been named the agency of record for home and businesses security giant ADT.

The account win follows a competitive review.

The MDC Partners unit will support national communications efforts around the company’s smart home security platform, ADT Canopy, as well as marketing and communications efforts for its Pulse Home Automation Systems and the company’s forays into the Internet of Things.

The account will be led by New York GM Tracey Cassidy, who will receive support from teams in the agency’s New York and Boston offices.

The global communications firm previously orchestrated ADT Canopy's PR program at the Consumer Technology Association’s annual CES trade show.

Boca Raton, FL-based ADT, which was founded in 1874, was acquired last year by Apollo Global Management for $6.9 billion.

Allison+Partners, which specializes in consumer marketing, healthcare, public affairs and technology, maintains 26 offices worldwide.
