The Philadelphia Parking Authority has issued an RFP for a “PR firm with significant experience representing a broad range of clients, particularly in the public sector."

The Authority’s mission is to support the region’s economic vitality through development of comprehensive parking, regulatory and transportation services.

The focus is on “improved access, greater mobility, and increased vehicular and pedestrian safety,” according to the RFP.

PPA is looking for a PR partner to develop and implement a process to facilitate direct interaction with the public and press.

The PR firm will have media relations experience in major US markets along with social media and web savvy

Noting that Philadelphia is regularly involved in mega-events, such as the Papal visit and Democratic National Convention, PPA wants a firm with experience in “guiding clients through high exposure and time sensitive PR issues.”

Work on the five-year contract begins Sept. 1. Responses are due Aug. 11.

A mandatory pre-proposal meeting was held July 26.
