The Children’s Museum of Manhattan has issued a request for proposals for a PR agency that can plan, coordinate and implement media outreach services in a bid to increase visibility for the museum and its exhibits, programs, events and activities.

The famed Upper West Side institution, which sees approximately 325,000 visitors each year and has been at its 38,000-square-foot West 83rd Street location for nearly three decades, is looking for a PR partner that can leverage earned media opportunities as it prepares to purchase a new building and subsequently move operations to that forthcoming location.

CMOM

Scope of work includes providing strategic counsel and recommendations on CMOM’s purchase of a new building, as well as recommendations regarding content (exhibits, programs, events, etc.) to attract media and influencer interest; executing targeted PR campaigns across tradition and online outlets to generate feature articles, event listings and related publicity for exhibits, programs, events and promotions; writing and distributing press releases and arranging media interviews and tours; coordinating with Museum staff to grow CMOM’s social media presence; sending media clips on a regular basis; and tracking coverage and measuring efforts.

Firms will be evaluated by relevant history, experience and evidence of qualifications, as well as planned approach to the work and projected cost.

Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on November 27.

Contact is Deirdre Lurie, director of strategic communications, [email protected].
