Publicis Health has promoted Alexandra von Plato to CEO. She previously served as global group president for Publicis Health’s worldwide communications and media agencies. Beginning her career as a television and commercial producer, von Plato played key roles with several communications and media businesses, including Current Communications Company, Medical Broadcasting Company, and Digitas Health. In her new role, she will be responsible for leading all Publicis Health businesses across the globe. Nick Colucci, who served as CEO of Publicis Health since 2007, will act as Chairman until the end of 2018, and will take on the COO of Publicis Communications North America.

Chicago-based KemperLesnik has named Scot Thor VP-content, effective immediately. Thor comes to KemperLesnik from Paragon Marketing Group, where he served as vice president of content and executive producer, identifying new opportunities for clients, developing creative for all channels and managing content campaigns. Before that, he was senior VP of programming and production at Back9Network, senior VP at 20 West Productions and vice president of media at Intersport. At KemperLesnik, Thor will work alongside existing client teams to enhance content marketing strategies.

The members of the Public Relations Society of America Counselors Academy have elected Clairemont Communications CEO Dana Phelps Hughens as its 2018 chair. Before coming to Clairemont, Hughens was senior vice president and global consumer practice group co-chair of Fleishman-Hillard. Counselors Academy is the national professional interest section of PRSA that focuses on the business of agency PR. Its programs foster networking, mentoring and learning. In addition, Filomena Fanelli of Impact PR & Communications and Kate Finley of Belle Communications have joined the Counselors Academy executive committee for three-year terms, and Gary McCormick of GMc Communications as an ex-officio member for a one-year term.

Jewelry brand Lagos has promoted Jamie Hector to the newly created role of PR director. Hector was hired as senior PR manager in March 2017 to develop a strategic multi-year plan to help increase brand awareness and build buzz for the company. Prior to joining Lagos, she oversaw U.S. PR efforts as senior PR manager for Omega watches. In her new role, Hector will continue to oversee the development and execution of all PR initiatives for Lagos out of its New York office.
