BackBay Communications has been selected by private equity and venture capital firm SuperReturn as media partner for its annual SuperReturn International conference being held in Berlin from Feb. 26 to March 1. BackBay was also media partner for the SuperReturn US West Conference in San Francisco earlier this month. BackBay’s remit includes elevating awareness of the conference and its speakers among key private equity professionals and private equity-focused media, as well as creating and managing traditional and social media communications prior to and during the event. SuperReturn International will bring together over 2,300 attendees from around the world to discuss the latest trends in private equity and venture capital.

Lou Hammond Group has brought on five new clients for PR, digital marketing and positioning. LHG will work with Sea Pines Community Services Associates in Hilton Head, SC, to roll out the community’s plan to protect, maintain and enhance the resources of the Sea Pines Plantation. Building on an existing destination marketing partnership with the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, the agency will now help drive awareness of the chamber’s economic development initiatives. LHG will also represent M3, a cloud-based accounting software solution for the hospitality industry; The Market at Grelen, a Central Virginia property with an expansive garden and gift shop, farm-to-table café, pick-your-own fruit and five miles of walking trails; and worldwide travel collection Collette, which celebrates its 100th year in 2018.


Zapwater Communications has been named the PR agency of record for Skydeck Chicago. Skydeck, located atop Chicago’s Willis Tower, is the highest observation deck in the United States at 1,353 feet. Chicago’s second most visited tourist destination, it is also home to The Ledge, a series of glass boxes that extend 4.3 feet from the tower’s west side on the 103rd floor, providing unobstructed views of the city. Zapwater has been retained for media relations, influencer marketing, strategic partnerships, events and programming, and social media. “Skydeck’s national and international appeal is an exciting addition to our travel and destination clients,” said Zapwater president and CEO David Zapata.
