Tech-focused independent network W2O Group today reported a 17.6 percent increase in revenue for 2017 to $144.3 million.

The gains follow a similarly impressive 2016, when the network had reported a 33 percent surge in revenue to $122.7 million.

The San Francisco-based marketing and communications network, which owns agencies Twist Mktg and WCG, among others, said in a statement that all the growth was organic and was due, in large part, to the successful integration of three consecutive acquisitions it had made in late 2016: life sciences PR agency Pure Communications, and digital marketing shops Marketeching Solutions and Sentient Interactive. The network also cited a number of new advertising and digital AOR assignments for the gains, as well as the continued expansion of its paid media and search offerings.

2017 accounted for the network’s 16th consecutive year of double-digit annual revenue growth.

“We had another breakthrough year in 2017 exceeding our revenue target and improving in key areas of efficiency, profit margin, talent development and client service,” said W2O chairman, founder and CEO Jim Weiss. “Our rapid growth and expansion has bucked industry norms and trends as a result of providing more and more offerings that our clients are demanding and giving our staff more opportunities to unlock their inner entrepreneur.”

The network in late January announced that former W2O chief operating officer Jennifer Gottlieb had been elected to the newly created role of president.
