Lauren Townsend has joined Starz, the pay-TV unit of Lionsgate global content platform, as executive VP communications.
She'll handle corporate communications, program publicity, media relations, social media, events, talent relations and government relations.
Townsend joins from Sony Pictures Entertainment, where she did a five-year stint and departed as VP-media & talent relations.
Prior to SPE, Townsend helmed Townsend Media Co., which over a nearly seven-year period grew from a media relations firm into a full-service PR operation focused on luxury goods, fashion & accessories, interior design, consumer packaged goods and publishing.
At Starz, Townsend reports to CEO Chris Albrecht.
