French/West/Vaughan has brought on Rachel Wing as vice president, John Moore as creative director and Jerstin Crosby as social media art director. Wing, who was a group account director at FWV from 2014 to 2016, returns to the firm from Variety Wholesalers, where she was VP of marketing. Before that, she was group director at The Zimmerman Agency. Moore comes to FWV after working for 18 years at Raleigh ad agency Howard/Merrell, most recently in the creative director slot. Crosby joins the agency from digital marketing firm Heart + Hammer. He had previously been with Chapman Design in Babylon, NY and Apple in New York City. FWV has also added Rachel Jackson to its Raleigh staff as an account coordinator and Amanda Yantos as an account executive at FWV Fetching, the agency’s pet and veterinary marketing practice. In addition, the agency has made several promotions, including Melissa Timney to senior VP and Katie Johnson to VP.

Gatesman has promoted Desiree Bartoe and Beth Thompson to VP, group account directors on the public relations and social media team, and Mark DiPietro to VP, creative director. Bartoe has been with the agency since 2014, taking a leading role in its StarKist business, as well as mentoring junior employees and participating in a number of account wins. Before coming to Gatesman, she was a senior PR account exec at Brunner. Thompson has been with the firm since 2008, working on such accounts Duquesne Light Company, National Inventors Hall of Fame, CNX and S&T Bank. DiPietro joined Gatesman as associate creative director in 2015. Before coming to the agency, he was creative director at Jacobson/Rost.

He has served as a vice president at Lois Paul and Partners and worked with the John Kerry for President campaign in 2004. He has guided strategic communications campaigns for over 20 years. Slowey/McManus has also hired Maija McManus, who has been a consultant at SMC for almost a decade, as an account executive. She will develop social media, strategic communications, and marketing strategies.
