Crosby Marketing Communications has hired Jennifer Pilcher, an expert on engaging the military and veteran communities, as a director, senior strategist. Prior to joining Crosby, Pilcher was founder and CEO of Strategic Military Communications and MilitaryOneClick, an online resource and social media community for millions of military and veteran families around the world. Using her marketing and media expertise as well as her personal experience as a Navy spouse, she will help clients develop authentic content and outreach programs designed to empower the lives of active duty personnel, National Guard and reservists, veterans, military spouses and beyond. She will support current Crosby clients including the Department of Defense’s Military OneSource program, Department of Veterans Affairs, and DAV (Disabled American Veterans), as well as develop new business opportunities.

Dix & Eaton announced today that P. Kelly Tompkins has been named a senior advisor, and Brittany Whitman has joined the firm as a senior account executive. Tompkins was formerly executive vice president and COO at Cleveland-Cliffs Inc., and before that was executive VP and CFO at specialty chemical company RPM International. “It is a tremendous benefit to our firm and our clients to have access to Kelly’s expertise with shareholder activism, major corporate transactions, management turnover, strategic review and reset, and sustainability,” said Dix & Eaton CEO Chas Withers. Whitman comes to Dix and Eaton from Longbow Research, where she was an equity research analyst for the restaurant industry.

Idea Grove has announced several executive hires and promotions. Etta Goss has been promoted from vice president of operations to senior vice president and COO. Prior to joining Idea Grove in March 2017, Goss was at multichannel marketing agency RAPP. Before that, she was a finance manager at Ketchum. Liz Cies has been promoted from account director to vice president. Cies has been at Idea Grove since 2013, leading engagements with some of Idea Grove’s largest clients. Prior to Idea Grove, she worked as a public relations specialist at Weber Communications. Katie Long has been hired as vice president. She comes to Idea Grove from Edelman’s Dallas office, where she was most recently vice president, corporate communications. Nate Binford has been hired as vice president, Digital. Binford joins the agency from Belo Media Group, where he led a product strategy team. Prior to that, he worked with the Dallas Morning News as a senior manager of marketing and audience development.
